01The role

Do you think about your retirement?

It’s probably a long way off, but what you decide now has a massive impact on your quality of life when it’s time to hang up your keyboard.

Could you afford to travel to all those places you dreamed of? Or invest in the spunky new start-up you believe could change the world?

One of the UK's leading actuarial companies is trying to help people like you and everyone you know to get more from their pension by enabling the people managing them to make better investment decisions.

You’d be a senior .NET developer in an eight-person team that develops a range of software and models that analyse and track the performance and all the other metrics of fund managers.

The team has a mix of development and investment skills and ambitious growth plans to take this much further by utilising big data and building sophisticated modelling to project future performance.

You’ll own the building of new software and APIs, using a natural language interface to bake AI into the projects.

Enjoy a 35-hour working week that never spills into your personal life and a benefits package that reflects the level of fairness and care this company is known for.

Lastly, inclusivity is more than just a PR soundbite. For example, they achieved 13 DEI awards in the last five years and their LGBT+, women's, multicultural and well-being networks tackle significant issues and unite their people.

  • Headline Benefits – Discretionary performance-related bonus, up to 10% pension, 26 days plus bank holidays, enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental leave and other flexible benefits and schemes.
  • Work Policy – Hybrid - 2 days pw from the London office, the rest remote.
  • Visa Sponsorship – Not available

02Here's what you'll need

You’ll be a backend senior or lead .NET developer with a healthy dollop of Azure services, SQL experience and experience with mentoring/reviewing code.

You’ll need some experience building software within industries like investment tech, asset management tech, pensions, actuarial science, fund management or banking.

This is so you have some understanding of the industry and can hold conversations with investments-focused people.

Lastly, you’ll have the drive and enthusiasm to learn more about the industry and seek the information you need to move your projects forward.
