Being a Head of Software Development is more enjoyable when you work for a company always trying to push the boundaries.
Does giving strong technical leadership to around 30 people as they embark on a very ambitious plan to build an ecosystem interest you?
That’s what you could be doing for this Havant-based marketing innovator; with 150+ employees, no one can ever accuse this company of lacking vision.
Voted the most innovative agency in six of the last seven years, they were the first company to create an online measure of emotion, and one of their tools has been used over 50 million times.
They use shed loads of data, psychology, behavioural science, and complex algorithms to help companies like Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Adidas predict whether TV adverts will succeed or fail, saving them millions.
They’ve recently started evolving from building great individual products to creating a platform to bring all their products together with built and shared services.
Your challenge will be to lead the software function which consists of three product teams and a QA team, as they add in several cross-platform features and re-architect their products to take advantage of these shared services and take a deeper dive into how they can improve their mobile presence.
You won’t be coding, but the team will need to see you know your technical onions to empathise with their challenges and understand complex technical concepts.
Other goals will be to help the team through change and restructuring as they build towards the ecosystem.
Lastly, to build and retain a settled team, focusing on implementing an engaging and achievable framework for personal development.
You’d be in the office once a fortnight, so ideally; you’d be within a few hours commute.
You could be a CTO who needs/wants to take a step down or a development manager ready to handle the step up to ‘head of’.
What matters is your strong technical leadership background in a modern .NET Core focused environment.
You’ll have excellent man-management skills with a good track record of people development and retention.
You take accountability for your team’s success, you have your finger on the pulse without micromanaging them, and you know how to build trusting relationships with your people.
A good understanding of cutting edge technology and how it can impact your processes and projects would be a plus.
